Te Wahi Pounamu
Te Wahi Pounamu Ōtautahi designs and crafts stunning jewellery. We work with a wonderful group of talented carvers up and down the Motu, your Taonga Pounamu has been handcarved with Aroha. Using the finest gem-grade Pounamu, each creation is crafted and finished to the highest standard. With over 30 years of experience in sourcing and handcrafting New Zealand Pounamu, Te Wahi Pounamu is one of the country’s foremost Pounamu artisans.
Johanna Elizabeth Qiao Tong
Raised in a rural farming community, Johanna was inspired by her mother, Vivienne, to explore her creativity. After moving to Dunedin in the early 2000s, she left art school to establish an independent studio practice, primarily at Dowling St Studios. Johanna now lives near Dunedin, at the foot of the Rock & Pillar Range. Johanna holds a Master's certificate in Ren Xue, a Level 4 in Tikanga, and a Level 4 certificate in Museum Practice. She also has experience in horticulture, stonemasonry, farming, and restoration.

Taura Toi
Based in Otago, Taura Toi is a dedicated artisan weaver passionate about preserving and sharing the traditional craft of weaving. With a deep respect for the cultural heritage of harakeke (New Zealand flax), Taura Toi blends artistry with tradition, creating functional and decorative pieces that celebrate the beauty of natural materials. As part of this mission, Taura Toi teaches the art of harakeke weaving to others, passing on the skills and cultural significance of this cherished art form through workshops and community engagement.
Hāpai Collective
Hāpai is a Māori arts collective founded by Alice and Jacinta in Ōtautahi (Christchurch). The name Hāpai comes from the Māori language, meaning "to uplift," "to support," or "to carry forward." It embodies a spirit of empowerment and collective responsibility, reflecting the values of helping others grow, prosper, and reach their full potential. Through their work, Hāpai strives to create meaningful spaces that nurture creativity, collaboration, and cultural expression, while contributing to the flourishing of both individuals and the wider community.
